Mazagran

The Mazagran is an alcohol-free drink from Spain and Portugal, fresh and citrusy. It is made with hot coffee, lemon juice and simple syrup, served in a highball over ice.

Portugal’s iced coffee with lemon, often called the original iced coffee.

Ingredients

Hot coffee120 ml (4 oz)
Lemon juice15 ml (½ oz)
Simple syrup15 ml (½ oz)

Measures for one serve. Open the drink in Bar Bible to scale it to a batch or switch to ounces.

Method

  1. Fill a highball with ice.
  2. Pour the ingredients in order, topping last.
  3. Lift once gently with a barspoon.
  4. Garnish with lemon slice.
