Gin Basil Smash
IBA official cocktail, New Era. Gin based, muddled, served in a rocks glass.
Ingredients
| Basil leaves | 10 leaves |
| Gin | 60 ml (2 oz) |
| Lemon juice | 30 ml (1 oz) |
| Simple syrup | 20 ml (¾ oz) |
Measures for one serve. Open the drink in Bar Bible to scale it to a batch or switch to ounces.
Method
- Muddle the basil with the lemon in a shaker.
- Add the gin, syrup and ice and shake hard.
- Double strain over fresh ice.
- Garnish with a basil sprig.
