Reverse Martini in a martini glass, drawn with its ingredient layers

Reverse Martini

The Reverse Martini is a stirred gin cocktail, spirit-forward. It is made with dry vermouth, gin and orange bitters, served in a martini glass.

Strength: about 20% ABV in the glass, roughly 18 g of alcohol per drink (an estimate; brands and dilution vary).

Twice the vermouth to the gin: softer, lower in alcohol, and famously Julia Child’s favourite.
