Old Fashioned
IBA official cocktail, The Unforgettables. Whiskey based, stirred, served in a rocks glass.
The original definition of a cocktail: spirit, sugar, water and bitters.
Ingredients
| Bourbon | 45 ml (1½ oz) |
| Sugar cube | 1 cube |
| Angostura bitters | 2 dashes |
| Water | 1 barspoon |
Measures for one serve. Open the drink in Bar Bible to scale it to a batch or switch to ounces.
Method
- Soak the sugar cube with the bitters in a rocks glass and add a few drops of water.
- Muddle until dissolved.
- Add ice and the whiskey, then stir gently.
- Garnish with orange peel and a cherry.
